Matthew 25:40: "And the King will answer them, 'Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'"
What we do for others, we do for God. If you saw Jesus on the street, what would you do?
We see Jesus on the street every day, and what do we do? Are we really better than anyone else? Are we better than God? "The least of these" may not be the least after all. "For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted," as Jesus said in Luke 14:11. And then He lived it as described in Philippians 2:8: "And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross."
If Christ can come down to our level, surely we can go over to the level of those around us in humility and love. Who will I humbly love today?
